SENIOR MANAGER OF DEVELOPMENT

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Manager of Development will lead the fundraising activities of the Science Alberta Foundation. Working with and mentoring a team, the Senior Manager of Development will ensure that fundraising targets are met, donor stewardship is delivered, and gift acquisitions and renewals are reached based on yearly targets. The Senior Manager of Development will be responsible for implementing innovative strategies that distinguish the Science Alberta Foundation in the sponsorship/philanthropy marketplace. In addition to achieving fundraising goals, the Senior Manager of Development is responsible for developing and implementing a communication strategy that sources and capitalizes on all available opportunities to enhance, promote, and advance Science Alberta Foundation as a leading and valuable charity of choice.
As the successful candidate, you will possess an undergraduate degree combined with a minimum of seven years experience in non-profit fundraising. You will be recognized as a leader in the areas of fundraising, philanthropy, and communication. Accreditation as a Certified Fundraising Executive would be considered an asset.
As Senior Manager of Development, you will have a blend of fundraising, sales, public relations, business, and staff management experience. You will have a proven track record of developing an organization’s strategic resources development framework and an ability to secure multi-year sponsorships and philanthropic gifts. You must be approachable, intelligent, and viewed as a highly credible leader. High energy, unquestionable integrity, and an outgoing personality round out your diverse skill set.
