Exhibits

Exhibits travel throughout the province and showcase current science in industry and everyday life. Designed to be set up in small spaces you will often find them in libraries, community centres or fairs. They present science through hands-on, interactive experiences and are great to visit with your children.

Exhibits can be booked for just $100, for shipping and handling.

NEW: Kelvin Adventures, Flight into the Body

Nano Smaller than microscopic, Kelvin is nano-sized! Learn all about the scale of nano in this interactive game. The body becomes infected, Kelvin’s mothership releases him and his nanobot into the body to fight the infection. Can you help Kelvin chase down the viruses before they spread?

TransMission Can you deliver the power? This digital challenge lets you explore power structures and link them together to make a power grid. When you’re successful, you light up the city!

Fission Impossible

Fission Impossible How does nuclear fission generate power? To find out, you must move a free neutron correctly through a fuel rod to create fission. Navigate carefully and you’ll release the energy you need for power.

Breakdown! The Making of Ethanol

In this activity, you make your own fuel. Match the right enzymes to produce ethanol. The higher your score, the more powerful your vehicle can be – you can fuel a family vehicle, a race car or even an airplane.

Learn about the many uses of a common crop grown in Alberta. Driving through gleaming canola fields, you’ll be asked to make choices about how canola can be used to make alternative products.

Will your puck make the score? In Slap Shot! you predict and then test which puck will be the most stable in flight for your hockey game: a hollow puck, a medium-weight puck or a heavy puck.

Mystery of the Missing Milk

Help Farmer Joe discover how to increase his cows’ milk production. With this exhibit, you choose different types of feed and see the results of a cow’s diet on its production of milk.

Top Cow

Can you make your own ice cream? Your challenge in Top Cow is to choose the right ingredients and the right type of process to make ice cream, cheese or yogurt. If it goes wrong, it’s goop!
