Since 1993, the Festivals of Science have traveled to different regions in the province to showcase local organizations and how they use science everyday. Each festival celebrates science and technology through hands-on learning and family-oriented programming. Science Alberta Foundation works to showcase the everyday science in Alberta communities and gives children and youth a chance to see different career options they have in science.

Unique activities reflect the science and technology distinctive to the community. In addition to a number of community programs, the Festivals have many activities for the classroom, from guest speakers to crates, these activities are aimed at getting students excited about science.
